In the past, the Grand Vitara never caught my eye. However, the all new Suzuki Grand Vitara has certainly peaked my curiosity.
It is powered by a 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder hybrid system and has a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Additionally, potential owners have the option of either Two-wheel drive or All-wheel drive models. Both models have 17” alloy wheels.
The new exterior design portrays a bold, stylish and yet executive look. The front grill accompanied with chrome accent pieces really helps the vehicle to stand out. Not to mention the smart looking LED projector headlamps. The side profile demonstrates that this SUV is built for the different types of terrain you may encounter. The space in the wheel wells allows greater wheel travel to overcome obstacles. The “Grand Vitara” badging at the rear of the vehicle compliments the executive design.
The interior build is standard Suzuki styling. Mounted center on the dash is your 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. As with most new model vehicles, the Grand Vitara has push to start, cruise control and a leather wrapped steering wheel with phone, audio and the cruise control buttons. Additional features such as leather seats, a heads up display, wireless charging and ambient & footwell lighting are available in the GLX trim. Don’t forget, this is an SUV, therefore, interior space is not an issue.
The Grand Vitara comes equipped with Total Effective Control Technology (TECT). This is Suzuki’s shock absorbing body structure, which absorbs and disperses energy around the cabin in the event of a collision. There are front driver & passenger, side & curtain airbags (6). Additionally, front & rear disc brakes with ABS, brake assist & electronic brake force distribution. ISOFIX child anchorage points are also present. To enhance your driving experience there is hill hold assist and hill descent control. Parking sensors are standard. However, a rear view camera is available on the GL Trim and a 360 view camera is available on the GLX trim.
Overall, the new Suzuki Grand Vitara is impressive and surely a great option for many.
