Porsche E3II Cayenne

Porsche, the brand that never settles. In their everlasting pursuit of perfection, Porsche has been hard at work developing and improving the already immensely successful Cayenne platform. The newest model of their flagship SUV, the E3II has recently begun production, rocking the luxury SUV market yet again.

So what’s new?

The exterior has received an update in the form of more futuristic styling, retaining its bold and beautiful base shape but adding small touches such as the larger and more aggressive front intakes, 911-shared rear tail light spanning the entire width of the car, and the more curvy fender and door designs. As always, these updates are not only for show, as this full-sized SUV has a drag coefficient of only 0.35 in base trim, aiding massively in fuel economy and top speed.

At 63mm longer and 9mm shorter than the previous model, the Cayenne takes one step closer to the supercar aura of the 911, especially with its lower roofline and 65kg of shed weight thanks to the extensive use of aluminium throughout the body.

The interior incorporates the 911’s steering wheel as well as the latest digital tach, reminiscent of the Taycan’s own. The leather seats hold up to Porsche standards with tailor-like stitching, a proper sporty embrace, and a comfortable yet undoubtedly luxurious feel. Even the most basic model without all the optional bits and pieces exudes lavish elegance.

Lastly and perhaps the most exhilarating update is the engine. Every single engine option, from the base 3.0L V6 to the earth-shaking power of the 4.0L V8 is now turbocharged, starting at 348hp and reaching upwards of 650hp respectively. The eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission mated to it has lightning-fast shifts, making the Cayenne more sporty and exciting than ever. Now, more than ever, the Cayenne can be labeled as a sports car beating family SUV.

What do you think of the new Cayenne?
