Porsche 718 Cayman GT4RS

‘Ask and you shall receive’. The prayers of Porsche fans like myself have finally been answered with the introduction of the new GT4RS.

This machine houses a 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six engine with Porsche’s 7 speed dual-clutch (PDK) automatic gearbox, which produces 493 horsepower and 331lb-ft torque. Could this be a baby 911 GT3 in disguise?

Being a track oriented car, the GT4RS surely lives up to the Renn Sport name. The lower, stiffened suspension, aggressive design, lightweight material, new rear wing and air ducts around the car all aid in enhancing the dynamics on track. To list a few:

Carbon Fiber bonnet has NACA air intakes to aid brake cooling.

  • Rear swan-neck wing for added downforce.

  • Improved wheel arch ventilation. (Wings made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic)

  • Air intakes replacing rear side windows.

  • Forged magnesium wheels to reduce weight.

In keeping with weight saving, on the interior you’ll find fabric door pulls. Elsewhere the cabin is filled with carbon fiber trim and soft touch leather. Don’t forget the standard carbon bucket or sport seats.

Alcantara leather and other interior elements can be provided based on the potential owner’s requirements.

In conclusion the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4RS is 'perfectly irrational’.

Thanks to Porsche Centre Trinidad for the opportunity to photograph this beauty. It was a dream come true.
