Why is Porsche so popular? What is it about Porsche that makes it so likeable?
Apart from Porsche’s incredible performance, everyday drivability and engineering; Porsche has a rich history and they continue to honor it. The instantly recognizable 911 is the ideal example. Each model has the distinct design from its predecessor. It surely puts a simile on everyone’s face when seen. For some, this is the reason why they decided to join the Porsche family.
Dealing with performance, the Porsche 911 delivers an incredible driving experience. Speed for the track and practicality for everyday use. As mentioned in my previous post, Porsche has perfected the driving position. Creating the accurate bend of both the knee and elbow, this provides optimum control both on track and road. Don’t forget the incredible sound of the rear mounted flat-six engine echoing in the cabin as the accelerator is activated.
Porsche says “It’s not just a drive, it’s an experience”. Indeed, it truly is but what is the experience? I believe the experience involves when you look down memory lane, you recall the first time you ever saw a Porsche glistening in the sun, or perhaps the smell of the Alcantara leather interior or the day you actually left the Porsche dealership with your brand new 911, ready to embark on a new journey and ‘experience’ new things.
In closing, I believe Porsches are a work of art, the pinnacle of sport car engineering, the best history book to ever exist and a brand that is unsurmountable to none.
